About Us

The Amara Girls Initiative (TAGI) is a registered Canadian not for profit organization established in 2022 operating in Canada and worst poverty affected areas of Sub-Saharan Africa with a mission to work with vulnerable communities to help the youth, young adults, children and women affected by HIV/AIDS, gain empowerment through education and access to social justice.

TAGI is dedicated to Empowering Girls, young adults, youth, and women, here in Canada and across the globe by providing a broad range of programs in academics, arts, health, life skills, mentorship, and peer relations.

TAGI is committed to building the self-esteem & self-worth of Girls, youngadults, youth, and women by positively influencing their outlook on life, broadening their horizons, & helping them to empower themselves.

In Canada,“TAGI”extends support to Girls, women and families through community programming and services which involve, BBQ get togethers, Food hampers, vouchers, gift cards and clothing packages.

The adoption of the 2030 agenda for sustainable development and its seventeen Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) has drawn considerable attention to income inequalities and social injustice in the Sub-Saharan Africa (SSA) as aligned with the report from UNDP on their progress to attain the SDGs.

The Amara Girls Initiative has a 2030 vision to continuously address vulnerabilities of children, young people, youths and women- especially vulnerabilities of the girl child with a focus on education, health education, community development and agricultural development.

The Amara Girls Initiative will operate globally to address social injustices that have been surged by the effects of COVID-19 (Corona virus) pandemic. In sub-Saharan Africa Covid effects have been severe due to the combination of declining global demand and local efforts to contain the disease and its post effects. Africans across the continent are faced with serious challenges, requiring fastand effective intervention that must be carried out in an affordable way in the context of rapidly shrinking fiscal space as reported by World Bank.

The Amara girls Initiative strategy to mitigate and the recovery intentions align with involving people facing social injustices by addressing the toll on livelihoods, mental health, food security and education.

Lobby and advocate for social justice to ensure that women and girls experience greater gender equality so that they can enjoy lives free from violence and realize their rights to Education and to Sexual and Reproductive Health (SRH).

Support women and  youths especially girls to strengthen their livelihoods and reduce the proportion of women and girls living in poverty by ensuring that women and girls have equitable access to and control over economic resources and opportunities which will make them more resilient to social shocks and stresses.

Work with global communities, local NGOs, district, national and international partners to engage and expand empowerment for the youth, young adults, women and girls in all spheres of life.

Creating a global platform for young adults, youth, women and girls to enable free speech in the fight of social injustices.
